My 1st wheel and my 1st batch of yarn from it!!!

Well, I finally worked enough Saturday clinics up at work to save for my Kromski Sonata in Walnut.  I haven't done anything but spin when I'm at home.  The house isn't getting cleaned, the laundry is piling up and take out is the new home cooking....haha.  I'm having such a great time with my new wheel, it has become my serenity, my stress release (used to be singing, I was in a band back in Lubbock).  Anywho, if anyone reads this and has some secrets of spinning that will help me in my new journey I'm all ears!!!!  Hope everyone has a great holiday!!!!

1st blog

I keep reading all these cool blogs and decided I wanted to attempt it. For my 1st I will keep it short and sweet. I'm a 4th year Doctor of Audiology Student (will be an Audiologist in May) and my hubby and I recently moved to the Dallas area for my 4th year externship. I used to sing in a couple rock bands but have had some issues with my jaw thus putting singing on hold. As a result I have picked up knitting and weaving.......I know... nothing like singing, but it has been a surprising stress releasing activity. My husband and I have been together for almost 8 years and married for 5 of them. We have 3 beautiful pups that we consider and treat as children. Aristophanes (Aris) is almost 10 and a teacup chihuahua, Pearl is 7 and a brittany spaniel who I rescued from a d-bag abusive hunter, and Sufjan Sai (Sai), a one-eyed boxer/doberman mix we adopted from the humane society in Odessa. I've passed through many obstacles in my lifetime (as many others) and continue to be surprised with what we are dealt on a daily basis. I consider myself a passionate gal with a strong personality, but I always try to think before I speak. My hope for this blog is for it to be a place I talk about my career (ears) and my knitting/weaving projects. Also, did I mention how much I love Maine?? My hubby and I dream of the day one of our careers will take us there permanently, so you may hear about that too!!! Happy knitting!!!!
